‘Zack’ (Stoke Whitesocks) – 2010

Our Sunshine.
You were always smiling, always happy,
always ready for fun, always waiting patiently.
We were loved in equal measure and equally that love was returned.
A pod of three our days and nights were spent together with
a soft head upon our laps or a welcome guest between our sides.
Our time was beautiful, our time was special;
We walked and talked, not forgetting the times we ran.
Our hearts burst with pride for our handsome fellow, our special find,
how proud we are to have had such a courageous boy by our side,
loved by one and all in his life.
Time to rest now our Sunshine,
remember the smiles, remember the freedom of runs,
remember the showers of kisses, cuddles and hugs,
and remember forever our eternal love.
We will miss you always and love you forever in that special place in our hearts. To our Sunshine, the bravest boy in the world, From Mummy and Daddy with love xxxxxxxx (21/6/03-10/8/10)

For my brave loyal girl.
With eyes that looked into my soul
You read my thoughts, my moods and emotions.
Sharing a bond that will never be broken.
No words were needed for you just knew.
The priviledged time we spent together.
Side by side in sun or shade.
I wish it could have gone on forever.
Fate cruelly took you too soon.
Always remembered – forever missed.

Drimpton Fields
By M.A. Bennett-Smith (2012)Down in the meadows – head to head
Out for their walk are Max and Meg
Their gait is slower than before
They’re missing Frances as of yore
In Drimpton Fields -Clouds parted on the hills in line
Sunlit shafts so brightly shine
A path to heaven – through pink clouds
Whilst all around darkness enshrouds
In Drimpton Fields -The light for us has gone out
Frances is gone – our lives about
But we’ll recall the nicest things
Birds skimming hedgerows on their wings
In Drimpton Fields -Doe and stag out in the trees
Hedgehogs shuffling on their knees
Cattle lowing in the night
The tinkling streams to soothe your fright
In Drimpton Fields -And all around the breeze is still
The beauty of this place must fill
An empty void left by our Fran
Forever loved while we still can

Holly Botteley 2013
My dear collie cross was put to sleep on Wednesday 17th April. She is 17 years of age and had a long and happy life. She came to me when she was 12 and was of particular comfort to me when my husband died four years ago. She was my constant companion and I loved her dearly. The day before she died she was running (or trotting!) through the fields happy and content so the decision the next day when she was obviously so ill was a hard one initially. However, her previous owner and I both agreed that it was the right thing to do. We will remember her with love and affection. Holly Bolly Boo Bums, my perfect pet.
