Girling & Bowditch is proud to provide its own 24 hour emergency cover. Once our clinics are closed, you can still contact us to receive emergency care for your animals. We’re dedicated to the needs of your animals 24 hours a day, and we think this makes us different to many other practices out there.

Whilst we’re not a veterinary hospital, we have a vet and a nurse on call every single night to ensure your animals can be cared for outside of normal working hours. We are responsible for all our own out-of-hours communication and care, and are available for emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

All in-patients are routinely given a thorough examination at the end of the normal opening hours and if the vet on call is different from the vet in charge of the case, the case details and specifics are handed over. Each patient has a personalised hospitalisation sheet, detailing the requirements through the night and all in-patients are checked as necessary by the vet or nurse on call. Checks or treatments required during the night are determined based on the clinical needs of the patient and your pet will receive the exact level of care required, determined by the assessment of the vet in charge of the case.

IMPORTANT: Please note that our opening hours have changed due to the Coronavirus Outbreak. Please see our home page for up to date opening hours.

Don’t forget that we provide a 24 hours a day service 365 days a year even when our clinics are closed. Our usual clinic opening hours are shown below.
